About Us
Mission
The East Lansing Educational Foundation is a diverse organization pursuing excellence and innovation in education through community engagement, strategic partnerships, ongoing fundraising, and effective programming.
Vision Statement
The East Lansing Educational Foundation supports all ELPS educators and students to excel and innovate by collaborating with the community to raise and distribute financial and in-kind resources.
Goals
Established in September, 1984, the East Lansing Educational Foundation recognizes that the quality of an educational system and the vitality of the community it serves are inexorably intertwined. In hopes of nourishing and strengthening this relationship, the Foundation, through the use of private resources, has committed its support to programs and projects which supplement the educational opportunities available to our children.
The Foundation, a nonprofit tax-exempt organization, operates independently from the school district for the sole benefit of its students. Foundation trustees are corporate and community leaders who donate their time and talents in order to promote the mission of the Foundation. Through your support the East Lansing Educational Foundation has become a vehicle of empowerment for our students, our teachers, our schools and our community as we greet the dawn of a new century.
The Foundation focuses its support in the following areas:
- Providing a vehicle for individuals, businesses and organizations to share resources and gifts with the schools.
- Developing enrichment programs to address the needs of the school district and the community it serves.
- Promoting community awareness for educational challenges and solutions.
- Supporting the professional growth of our teachers.
- Fostering the development of alumni relations.
- Furnishing equipment and facilities not funded through other means.
